Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operator Training Course
The Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operator training course is a two day intensive training course that provides a basic introduction to all aspects of being a PAM operator.
The course provides background information on the need for PAM operators and then gives a good grounding in PAMO systems, underwater acoustics and noise, the calls that marine mammals make and how to carry out a PAMO watch. The course culminates with the students carrying out a real PAMO watch while filling in the JNCC forms.

About The Training Course
The course will provide you with the knowledge to work as an PAMO as well as a practical assessment allowing you to put all the theory you have been taught into practice.
Throughout the theory you will receive continuous assessment on each unit in order to make sure you have retained the information being taught correctly. This allows our staff to identify areas that need attention making sure you are fully equipped in order to perform your role.
Daily Breakdown
- Day One will be all the theory behind PAMO knowledge base, it will cover all the background knowledge you will be required to know and understand to make you a reliable and competent Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operator.
- Day Two will then put this theory into practice with a practical assessment.
Certificate
All students that successfully complete the Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operator training course will receive a certificate after completing a feedback form.
Please note that this certificate entitles the bearer to work only as an PAMO and does not qualify you as a certified PAMO trainer. If you are interested in becoming an PAMO trainer then please contact us.
How to Register

You will then receive an invoice from our PayPal system for the total amount payable.
